Anadarko Pipeline Project in West Texas
HGA has been awarded work for Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, a long-term client and one of the largest independent exploration and production companies in the world. HGA will be providing Anadarko with full-range Pipeline Services to assist with a multi-year property development for the company’s expanding operations in West Texas.
DCS Upgrade and Re-Instrumentation Projects
Rubicon, LLC has been a primary client of HGA Baton Rouge – Brookline for over 30 years. Founded in 1965, Rubicon is located in Geismar, Louisiana – just south of Baton Rouge. The Rubicon plant produces polymeric and high-grade pure Methylene Diphenyl di-Isocyanate (MDI), which is commonly used in a wide variety of markets, including adhesives, automotive-related items, construction, electronics, and sporting equipment. The Geismar plant location is the largest North American producer of its kind.

Strong Start for HGA in 2015
“We finished 2014 on a great note and 2015 is off to a strong start,” commented Trott Hunt regarding the health and performance of HGA. The company is forecasting over $100 million in revenue in 2015.

Established in 1997, HGA supplies a full-range of engineering, program management, and staffing services for public and private sector clients.
Providing Hazard Mitigation Services to Louisiana
In early 2012, HGA began evaluating our grant management support services to our clients who are recovering from Hurricane’s Katrina/Rita and Gustav/Ike. Since 2007, our focus has been providing support to long term disaster recovery programs supported by Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds. The main effort being project management support to the State of Louisiana’s $1.4 billion infrastructure program; composed of 434 projects covering 31 parishes ("counties") and 300 communities. Additionally, we are providing project management and consulting services for 73 projects for eight parishes (“counties”) affected by Hurricanes Gustav and Ike, totaling approximately $123M in CDBG-DR infrastructure projects.
HGA-Staffing Provides Chemtura with P&ID Walk Down Team
HGA is providing Chemtura, a global specialty chemicals company, a P&ID walk down team for their plants in El Dorado, Arkansas.
Initially, HGA was engaged to verify the accuracy of the plant P&IDs. “We recognized the needs of the client and saw the vast amount of work that was ahead of them,” commented Chris Wyatt, Staffing General Manager. HGA Staffing acknowledged the technical personnel that were needed to perform extensive Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) for all three sites in the area. Chris continued: “This developed into a joint-effort project with Chemtura. We used their team as the foundation and added project managers, engineers, engineering technicians, drafters, and designers.”

“I got to see things from several points of view,” commented Tony. “What we as managers think may be important to the individual operating the piece of equipment may not be important when you look at it from their perspective. And in the end, the one operating the piece of equipment is the one that ultimately makes the money for the company - so you need to be fair and right with them. Treat everyone with respect and they will usually do their best for you.”
HGA Exceeds 1-Million Man Hours without Injury
“The more growth a company has, the more susceptible a company can be to an injury,” commented Trott Hunt, HGA President. “HGA has grown 12% in man-hours over the past year, and with that growth, we needed additional emphasis on safety as a top priority.”
Our safety motto: ‘Safety is no Accident. It’s a Culture’ has been a direct influence to the last recordable injury (to-date): January 31st, 2013. “We would not have been as successful without the support from the Management group at HGA and especially from those in the field demonstrating safety initiatives to others,” commented Tony Stark, HGA Safety Manager.
HGA Acquires Baton Rouge Engineering Consulting Firm
HGA – a global professional services firm based in Ruston, LA – announced earlier today that it has acquired Baton Rouge-based R&D Consulting. The transaction closed on Friday, September 26.
R&D Consulting was founded in 1976 as D.J. Farrow and Associates. Its current owners – Robert Hollinger and David Eccles – purchased the Company in 1996 and changed the name to R&D Consulting. The company is a 30-person engineering consulting firm serving the Gulf Coast petrochemical and fertilizer industries.
Wood Pellet and Ship Loading Facility (Project Spotlight)
HGA provided the client, a top-ranked contractor, with civil and mechanical engineering design services for a wood pellet storage and ship loading facility in South Louisiana. HGA provided foundation and building drawings - along with providing drawings for Army Corps of Engineers.
HGA Expands into New York
HGA’s Program Management team has opened three offices in New York to support the disaster recovery needs of the area. The offices have been strategically established to support the distinct regions—Upstate, New York City, and Long Island. Locations include Albany, Manhattan, and Farmingdale.

Coming in this year at No. 3555, HGA also ranked No. 48 for engineering firms and No. 3 for Louisiana companies. Engineering was the sixth fastest growing industry and had an impressive 154% growth rate in 2013.
