HGA-Staffing Provides Chemtura with P&ID Walk Down Team
HGA is providing Chemtura, a global specialty chemicals company, a P&ID walk down team for their plants in El Dorado, Arkansas.
Initially, HGA was engaged to verify the accuracy of the plant P&IDs. “We recognized the needs of the client and saw the vast amount of work that was ahead of them,” commented Chris Wyatt, Staffing General Manager. HGA Staffing acknowledged the technical personnel that were needed to perform extensive Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) for all three sites in the area. Chris continued: “This developed into a joint-effort project with Chemtura. We used their team as the foundation and added project managers, engineers, engineering technicians, drafters, and designers.”
“We understand that plants need to be OSHA compliant, and it all starts with having your P&IDs up to date,” commented Chris Wyatt, HGA Staffing General Manager. “Sometimes plants get so busy that P&IDs and PFDs can become neglected. In this case, there was a need to help Chemtura update the P&IDs and put a standard in place for all their plants.”
Recognizing that all plants are different and unique, HGA collaborated with Chemtura to develop a QA/QC program that fit their needs. This helped streamline drawings for all their sites.
“The HGA team has done a tremendous job coming in and helping Chemtura organize and maintain an important part of their records,” stated Noah Brumley, Staffing Account Manager. “We plan to put together other specialized teams to perform this service for other clients who need help in this area.”
Jim Langan, Chemtura Process Engineer commented that: “HGA has done a great job on providing qualified candidates for our project work. The teams and individuals work effectively with our employees as well as bringing industrial experience all delivered with an air of customer service. They’ve even delivered added technical expertise to help make the completed work more comprehensive in detail. The professional demeanor during work development helps streamline the process of managing data.”
“The team works really well together: from the initial P&ID walk down through delivery of the completed drawing. We complement each other’s responsibilities and we really take pride in the quality and accuracy provided,” commented the on-site Mechanical Engineer.
